Lamp for IP analytics

Map their claims. Find the gaps.

Run a Patent Analysis on a competitor's patent family. See how the claims are built, which features are essential and where the coverage has gaps. Every quote is checked against the patent text.

P1, claim 1 Verified

Coverage gaps 3 found

  1. Earbuds with other sensor pairs fall outside P1 and P2.

    Blocking

Would close it: a divisional or continuation claiming any two sensor types, as in P3.

  2. Detection with one sensor falls outside every claim.

    Minor

Would close it: a new filing. The description only discloses two sensors.

  3. Claims are limited to earbuds. Over-ear headphones fall outside.

    Minor

Would close it: a claim to wearable audio devices in general.

Reading a competitor's family takes time.

The text is public. Knowing what it protects is the hard part.

  • One family, many claim sets.

Each member is granted with its own claims. The US claims can be broader than the European ones. You have to read them all.

  • Not every feature matters.

A claim lists many features. Only some set the invention apart. Mistake a general one for an essential one and you misread the patent.

  • Followers are hard to see.

Later patents that cite a family show who works close to its claims. Finding them by hand takes a citation search for every member.

From a patent family to a Patent Analysis.

Start with a sentence, not a query language.

  1. Search in plain language

Describe the technology in a sentence. Lamp turns it into patent searches and collects the patents in a research session.

For example: earbuds that pause music when taken out of the ear

  2. Open the family

See the family members of each patent. Compare the patents side by side and ask the AI chat about any of them.

For example: P1, P2 and P3 side by side

  3. Run the Patent Analysis

Lamp estimates the credits from the patents you select and the AI model you use. Pro runs 2 reports at the same time, Max 4.

For example: Patent Analysis on 3 patents: about 500 credits with Claude Sonnet 5.5

  4. Check the sources

Every cited patent shows its number. Each quote is marked verified or quote not found. Read the flagged ones yourself.

For example: P2, claim 15: quote not found

The patent preview lists each patent's family members. Pick the members you need and analyze them together.

Citations

See who builds on this family.

Lamp lists citations in both directions: the earlier patents a family cites, and the later patents that cite it. When one company cites the same family again and again, it is working close to those claims.

What a report costs

A report costs credits. How many depends on the AI model you choose and on how many patents you select for the report. The table shows the estimate for each model.

Pro costs €119 a month, or €1,190 a year, and includes 700 credits every month. Unused monthly credits do not carry over.

Max costs €269 a month, or €2,690 a year, and includes 1,800 credits every month. Unused monthly credits do not carry over.

While a report runs, Lamp holds its estimate. When it ends, Lamp charges the credits for the text the model actually read and wrote. That can be less or more than the estimate.

When your credits run out, chat and reports stop until you buy extra credits or your monthly credits refill. You can still open and read everything you made before.

The free trial includes 300 credits and 1 report. Prices exclude VAT.

Lamp drafts. You decide.

Lamp uses AI models that can make mistakes. Every report carries this note: This report is AI-generated and may contain errors. It does not constitute legal advice. Verify all findings independently.

It can be wrong.
A claim can be read too broadly or too narrowly. A feature can land in the wrong column. Treat the analysis as a first draft.
Quotes are checked.
Every cited patent shows its number. A passage Lamp finds in the patent text is marked verified. A quote it cannot find is marked quote not found. A patent number it cannot confirm is marked unverified.
It is not legal advice.
Questions of infringement, validity or freedom to operate go to a patent attorney.
The strategy is yours.
Lamp shows what a family claims and where it stops. What that means for your products is for you and your team to decide.

Questions IP teams ask.

What does a Patent Analysis cover?

One patent or a whole patent family. The report sets out the technical field, the background and the technical problem. It maps the claim structure, with a dependency tree for each patent, and sorts the features into essential and general. It then covers claim breadth, coverage by patent, coverage gaps with their severity and the objective technical problem. Interpretation notes come last.

How do I know a quote is really in the patent?

Lamp checks each quoted passage against the patent text. A passage it finds is marked verified. A quote it cannot find is marked quote not found. A patent number it cannot confirm is marked unverified. Every cited patent shows its number, so you can look it up yourself.

What does one report cost?

It depends on the AI model and on how many patents you select. With Claude Sonnet 5.5, a Patent Analysis on 50 patents uses about 3,000 credits. The table under "What a report costs" shows every model. Pro includes 700 credits a month, Max 1,800.

What is in the free trial?

14 days with 300 credits, 1 report, up to 250 patents added to your research and up to 50 chat messages. After 14 days the account becomes read-only unless you choose Pro or Max.

Can we run several reports at once?

Pro runs 2 reports at the same time, Max 4. The trial includes 1 report.

What else does Lamp do?

Lamp writes two more report types, Search Report and Written Opinion. You can also search in plain language, compare patents side by side, paste your own invention into the chat as the subject and ask questions in the AI chat.
